Click for larger image Book cover picture of Steinbeck, John. EAST OF EDEN. New York: The Viking Press, (1952.) | First printing. One of Steinbeck's most important novels, a sweeping epic set in California's great central valley. First state with the error on p 281 in a first issue dust jacket with a photograph of Steinbeck on the rear cover. 602 pp. Very good in a good only dust jacket (some light fading to the lime green cloth covers, and although the book appears tight and straight, the binding is cracked at the very end, just before p 601.) The top of the spine of the dj has a missing piece ranging from about 1/4 of an inch all the way across to a triangular piece up to one inch long - affecting most of the letters in Steinbeck. Some toning to the back cover of the dj, and rubbing to the folds, but otherwise good condition. .ISBN # 0-14-0049975 |
