First printing - limited edition. A large format book commemorating the original artwork on the Christmas catalogues issued by F. A. O. Schwartz between 1920 and 1948. Includes a single large center pop-up of a carousel with reindeer instead of horses, with brightly decorated presents around the base. Each package contains a small removable cardboard ornament (with gold string for hanging) based on the Santas on the original catalogue covers. Also tucked under a flap is a small booklet with the story of Santa Claus. Although now sadly gone, the store will live on in memory as a magical place. This keepsake was intended to be the first in a series, but apparently it is the only one issued. Red ribbon ties. Fine condition - uncommon, and appealing . |
