Reprinted many times, and the basis for the 1941 movie from Paramount Pictures, starring John Wayne and Betty Field. Illustrated with 8 glossy plates by John H. Weddell, Bound in dark red cloth, gold lettering on spine, oblong picture inset on the front cover. Laid in is a 6 pp brochure "With The Compliments / Of The Publishers / To Readers Of / The Shepherd Of The Hills" with a photograph of Wright and a facsimile signature and 3 pp of biographical information credited to R.P.S in Berkeley, Calif. March 21, 1907. 352 pp. Good condition with some fraying to the ends of the spine, gift inscription dated in 1909 on front endpaper, and rubbing to the lettering on the front cover (as is common with this title), but overall tight and clean. The uncommon pamphlet has split into two pieces along the fold. .
