Van Lhin, Eric (pseudonym of Lester Del Rey). BATTLE ON MERCURY. Philadelphia: John C. Winston Co. , (1953.) Hardcover First Edition

First printing. An uncommon first edition of this early title in the classic Winston series of juvenile science fiction, written by some of those who would go on to be among the most respected writers in the genre, and by those with a knowledge of and background in science. This was written by Lester Del Rey under one of his several pseudonyms (of course, the name Lester Del Rey itself was a 'working name.') Striking endpaper design by Alex Schomburg. Very good+ in red cloth with black lettering (a nice tight and clean copy with only minor wear to the covers), lacking the dj. .
