FRANCISCA REINA And Other Poems.

Edition: First thus.

San Francisco: A. M. Robertson, 1912. Hardcover first edition - A collection of poems including 3 from her earlier book also called "Francisca Reina" (the title poem is an image of San Francisco after the earthquake as a grieving but still undefeated queen: "A stricken queen, but still a queen of queens,/ She sat upon the sloping of her hills/ Where wreck and fire had danced the dance of death.") Two others are from "A California Pilgrimage Among the Old Missions" (1884) and this is the first book publication for most of the remaining poems - in addition to San Francisco and California themes, there are poems on the Yukon Gold Rush, on the aftermath of the Spanish-American war and more. Printed by Taylor Nash & Taylor of San Francisco. Tipped in frontispiece. 124 pp.
