Sutton, Margaret THE VANISHING SHADOW: A Judy Bolton Mystery #1. New York: Grosset & Dunlap, (c.1932.) Hardcover

Later printing - circa 1950's. The first book in the series of girl's mysteries, unusual in that Judy Bolton is first a high school student as in this story, later a young woman and still later on a young wife. All of the mysteries are based on actual events. Bound in rust colored tweed with burgundy and white illustrated endpapers, frontispiece, burgundy topstain. Very good- in a poor dustjacket which is missing the front flap and has some other edgewear and a partially closed tear at the top of the spine. The wraparound illustration is still quite attractive, though. .
