Seaman, Augusta Huiell. THE MYSTERY AT NUMBER SIX. New York: The Century Co., 1922. Hardcover

Early printing. A story for older children or young adults which is set against one of Seaman's more unusual locations: Number Six in the title refers to a now abandoned pool from a phospate mine, and the idyllic loveliness of this pool is contrasted against the scenes of the working mine. Interesting picture of Florida during the 20's - references to selling an alligator hide for a dollar, the young people attend a moving picture show, etc. Illustrated by W. P. Couse with a frontispiece and 3 inserted plates on glossy stock. 254 pp. Ex-library with significant reading wear - illustration on front board half peeled off, missing front endpaper, corner of frontispiece torn. Binding is sturdy, so a good reading copy only. .
