Larger Image![]() | First printing. Uncommon first edition of Sarton's second novel, set in Belgium - the country where Sarton was born - in the years of peace which formed a bridge between the two world wars. Good only in a like dustjacket (some dampstaining to the green cloth, which caused bleeding onto the interior of the dustjacket, a bit of staining to the edge of the rear endpaper, none in the text, price-clipped) Despite the flaws, this is a straight and attractive copy- the dustjacket is quite bright and with an archival protector on, it shows very well. A good hole-filler for a book which is becoming hard to find in dustjacket. . |
