Illustrated by the author with a frontispiece and 6 attractive inserted plates. Miss Plympton, in fact, is perhaps better known as an illustrator than as a writer, although there was a sequel to this book called 'Dorothy and Anton' and the back of the book contains an advertisement for another book written and illustrated by Plympton: 'Betty, A Butterfly.' Floral endpapers. 190 pp.
Condition: Very good+ in light olive green cloth with a rust-colored illustration and gilt lettering on the front cover. A little fraying to the ends of the spine, gift inscription dated Christmas 1891 on first blank page.
