An exceptionally well-organized debut, with thoughtful ideas, a controlled plot, and characters - particularly the young protagonist - portrayed with insight and compassion.' Basis - rather loosely (the book is much better) for the film of the same name. 344 pp. Near fine in a very good dustjacket (bookplate on front endpaper, otherwise very tight and clean, dust jacket has short closed tear at top of spine.)
