THE FOREST OF THE SOUTH.
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1945. Hardcover First Edition
First printing. A collection of short stories by this important Southern writer. The long first story, 'The Captive' , the story of a young pioneer wife taken captive by Indians after her children are killed, is among her best writing. Very good+ in a good only dust jacket, with several small chips to the edge, the loss of about 1/2 cm at the ends of the spine, rubbing along the folds of the dj, and some fading to the spine. Despite the flaws in thedj, this is a reasonable copy of a quite uncommon book. .
