Del Rey, Lester. MISSION TO THE MOON. Philadelphia: John C. Winston Co., (1956.) Hardcover First Edition

First edition. Rather uncommon first printing of an early title in the classic Winston series of juvenile science fiction, written by some of those who would go on to be among the most respected writers in the genre, and by those with a knowledge and background. Introduction by Del Rey called 'Dreams That Become Reality' in which he talks about the actual work being done on space exploration starting with Hermann Oberth. Endpaper design by Alex Schomburg. Very good in red cloth covers, lacking the dj (some splotching to the covers, but a good tight copy, with the contents about fine.) .
