First printing. Historical novel for older children, set in 15th century France. Illustrated with 8 black and white line drawings by Eleanor Mills. This appears to be the first children's book illustrated by Mills: the dustjacket refers to her as a 'strikingly gifted newcomer to the field.' Very good in very good dust jacket (bit of dampness has caused some crinkling to outer margins of pages, dustjacket flaps were attached by tape and discoloration remains on flaps and endpapers, 1 tape repair to lower edge of front cover, but still a quite attractive copy overall.) . |
