First edition ( "Diamond Jubillee Edition") A history of the Congregation, focusing on its work on the Pacific coast, beginning with the first sisters who left the motherhouse in Namur, France, in 1843, to journey to Oregon as missionaries (the account of the voyage is based primarily on the diary of Sister Mary Aloysius). Photographs, several appendices , 317, xiii pp, plus index. Very good in blue cloth with gilt lettering, top edge gilt (bookplate). .
